When inserting a USB flash drive into an XP machine, it is recognised but it did not appear in My computer with an allocated Drive letter. I went into disk manager to allocate a drive number. unfortunately I am unable to initialise(I have ensured the write -protect is off) and end with an unknown drive, uninitialized and an Icon with a red Circle with white stripe (Rather like a no entry sign. Furthermore I get an error message to restart Disk management etc. I have tried to contact twinmos but to no avail. There is a FAQ on how to allocate a drive letter, but I dont even get that far. Is it me or is there something else it could be?

Thanks Unofire

Is it recognized in another XP machine?

Is this a network machine, or "stand-a-lone"? In "My Computer", what drives do you have listed (with and without the flash drive)?

Are you using a hub or direct usb connection?
If using a hub try a direct connection, sorry have to ask.
