Hello all...

I'm trying to setup a new XP Pro machine for use on our NT4 network. I DO NOT want the user to have admin rights to the entire network, but I DO want them to have admin rights to their machine... I can't seem to get it to do one without the other...

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jim Coates

Jim,

1.) Create an account for your user on the NT 4.0 PDC.
2.) Log on to the XP box as the local Administrator account.
3.) Add the user's Domain account, (from the NT4.0 PDC), to the local Administrators Group on the XP box.
4.) This gives the user Administrator rights on the XP box, but limits this user on the Domain to the permissions you provide for the account on the PDC...
