I have a Gigabyte GA-8IG1000 socket 478 home brew sytem that is giving me an error whenever i try to run XP sp2. When it unpacks it stops every time with a file corrupted error. I downloaded SP2 again and verified it would unpack on another machine. I tried replacing ram, power supply, updating m/b bios, intel chipset driver. I reinstalled XP and formatted the drive as well. I don't know what could be causing this.

Thank You.

By any chance this motherboard have via chipset?

It's a Intel 865G HOST/AGP/Controller from the m/b manual. Thats what i downloaded and installed.
Thanks.

Go to the site and download the newest chipset drivers available and install those. Same with video card drivers. Then try it.
