XP slows down when saving corel file on network

1.I have a XP workstation (service pack 1)
2.I have a Novell network (netware 4.1, latest client with service pack)
3.I have word perfect 8 & 10

-When ever I try to save a file on the novell server it takes up to 10 minutes! this does not happen with any other type of file, and it happens with both word perfect 8 & 10.
