XP Pro SP2. On a pc, I have a shared directory off of c. I have enabled it via Properties - Sharing - Network Sharing and Security, and I "share this folder on the network" and "allow network users to change files". Windows firewall is disabled.
There is only one pc, also XP Pro sp 2, that maps to this share and passes files to it over a novell network. Most of the time, everything works fine.
Every so often, sometimes when I reboot, sometimes for other (unknown) reasons, the share permissions are lost on the pc. The pc is locked up in the computer room and no one has access (other than to the shared dir) except me. It is easy enough to restore the permissions, but does anyone know why this is?
Thanks
Leslie
