XP replace 2K anomaly 1

Strange things happen. I replaced 2K Pro w/OEM version of XP MCE and when it installed - I had XP Pro. Wot happened?
The installation CD was cleared marked MCE. ????

When you say replaced, do you mean wipe clean and install or update? If it is an update, you probably inherited a whole load of stuff from Pro that are not available in the home edition. Pro is better anyway.
