xp related problems

for xp
1) what happens if the password expires without renew ?
2) my pc gets hung at the "welcome" stage & am uanable to continue.i hv to reboot the system.any tips?
3) my dvd play back on windows media player gets frozen after about 3 minutes of play.hv tried all tricks from the help menu & even uninstall & reinstall of xp & media player,but no luck. do u think i need i need to install a decoder.any other tips are welcome.
all tips will be appreciated.

Have you run the Windows update and got all the latest critical fixes, Windows XP fixes, and driver updates?
