I am running a 2.0 Intel CPU with 512 RAM on XP Pro. I had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall XP. Now when I start the machine I get a window with my name on it asking if I want to continue. When I click on it a blank desk top come up. The only course of action I can take is a CTRL-ALT-DEL. The screen stays blank for 60 to 90 seconds and then the task mgr comes up and allows the regular desk top to appear. In addition when I click on the internet it takes forever for the internet to come up. Please, what have I done wrong or what can I do. Thank you Eddie2

Have you tried Safe Mode?

Perhaps you have a corrupt User Profile.

Otherwise it might be easier to have another go formatting and installing XP.
