Can anyone help me with directions to completely remove Windows 2000 and install XP Pro. Also, is it possible to do this and preserve all of the software/programs on my machine?

You can format your disk and install xp.
If you want to preserve your software installed, you need to do an upgrade. In sert the xp disk when the 2000 OS is running and choose upgrade.
