My CEO has an XP Pro laptop that he uses at work where we have a new SBS 2003 server. When at work everything works just as he needs. When he goes home, he cannot print and he cannot access many features in software. For example in AOL, he cannot download attachments. In Quickbooks Pro he cannot access the "Navigators".

When you log into SBS2003, does it grant permissions to its users that he may need at home? FYI - we had an NT4 SP6 server and he had no problems then.

Any help/direction will be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,
BDZ

Hi BDZ

Is the laptop joined to the domain?

Can you give some more specific information about the errors the CEO is getting printing? I assume he does have a printer at home and it's connecte properly.

Not to familiar with AOL or Quickbooks but that doesn't sound 'right'. What are the errors with those two?

Are you using Roaming Profiles, folder redirection, etc?

It sounds like I need to use roaming profiles. Here I go ... I am not sure what a "Sharename" is within the profile path - but I am going to give it a try.

Thanks for the direction.

Any other ideas will be appreciated as well.
