I'll bring up the screen, format the drive, it copies all the files, then when it restarts, it says it has no boot emualtion, then it will read the cd, and take me back to the Windows XP Setup Screen(blue screen. Its a HP Pavilion 521n 1.4GHz AMD XP 384 SD RAm, 40 gig HDD, 128 DDR Geforce 5200 PCI. Maybe i have to go download a boot tool from the harddrives companies website? not sure, but please any information would be useful.

Thanks in Advance
Mike

The boot emulation is a message from the CD bootloader. This sounds like a bad copy. XP uses a non-emulation of a floppy disk boot loader schema.

Boot from a Win98SE Custom floppy image ( so that you will have CD support.

Create a directory \i386 on the hard disk and copy the contents of \i386 from the XP CD.

Then cd into \i386 on the hard drive, and type: winnt
