I have come to the point of total frustration in trying to discover what ails my system.
I am currently having a 'Freeze' issue if I attempt to do anything such as rip a CD or on occasions maybe something media oriented be it graphical or audio. There are other areas when this can occur and so I'm not totally focused on media as being the target problem. On top of that, and I think this may be relevant, the thing will sometimes reboot whilst I the middle of working on something.

Not for the above reasons I must add, but I have changed the Graphics card, Sound Card and upgraded the power pack but the problem existed before that.

The system is currently run by an AMD XP2000 CPU, 512 Mb DDR Ram and so I'm not short of memory. I have two HDD's the main one of which is 120 Gb partitioned into 6 drives all of which have their own paging file.

Has any one had a similar problem or got any clues.

Barbara

Make sure your heat sink and cpu fan are fastrened properly to the cpu. I had a cpu heat sink pop off one time and caused all kinds of problems with heat.

IF that isn't a problem, I'd start suspecting a crack in your mb. When the mb heats up, it will cause the crack to expand and cause a short. That or a componet on the mb is beginning to fail.
