XP Pro Freezes Coming Out Of Screensaver 1

I have had XP running perfectly for about 2 months now. Recently I,ve been having trouble with it freezing up after it goes into the screensaver mode. (I only recently started using the Windows update service and let it apply the needed patches, related?) The mode I am talking about is when the computer isnt used for a while and the balck XP logo comes up on the screen. I would assume this is also some sort of hibernation mode. I used to be able to pull out of this mode simply by moving the mouse, now I have to cycle power. Ive looked in the event viewer but I dont see anything out of the ordinary. Please help...

Open Device Manager.
Find your mouse and right-click to view its Properties.
On the Power Management tab, put a checkmark in "Allow this device to bring the computer out of Standby".
Do the same for your keyboard.
