Hi
I have around 10-14 users who get up from their cubicles and walk over to use the fax every day, multiple times per day.

I'd like to connect these client computers to the fax machine, ideally I would like to set up a fax server and then make the fax server application sharable to the users.

Has anyone done this previously? Of all the PC related tasks I can accomplish without issue I think the Fax feature is my kryptonite

Thanks

Also all of my users run XP pro except 2 who use win 98 but those will be retired shortly.
We don't use a domain, just a workgroup.

No Sharing!

"One feature we were all hoping would appear with the XP fax service has remained notably absent, sharing of the fax service".

But?

Faxing in Windows XP

HOW TO: Send a Fax in Windows XP(Q306657)

Type Send a Fax in the Help and Suppport program for a good source of information.

You will have to install the fax service (which comes with windows, but is not installed at Setup).
Your modem must support faxing (try setting up faxing and see if it does, there is a good chance it will).

I don't know what your budget is like, but here is the application I use at my company. I have it running on a Windows 2003 Server and have used it for many years and it works great. We have a communications department that takes care of emailing the faxes to the correct users.
