Hi,
I wonder whether someone can help me. I have a Draytek Vigor 2800 series router/vpn/firewall and have about 10 remote users connecting to this using the built-in VPN client within XP Pro. All users use PPTP and have been connecting successfully for over a year.
Now one specific user has a problem. He can connect successfully 100% of the time but the VPN connection disconnects after a random period of time (between 1 and 15 minutes). There appears to be no reason for this, no errors appear. I have tried MY laptop with his login details, these work. I have tried my login details on his laptop; the connection still drops. I have compared his settings (security etc.) with those on a client machine that has no problems and everything is exactly the same. I've also removed the VPN connection and recreated it from scratch without any improvement. In addition, it does not seem to matter how he connects to the internet (be it his home ADSL or a mobile 3G datacard) as this has exactly the same results.
Everything was perfectly OK until yesterday and then this problem suddenly appeared! If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it as it's currently driving me mad!!
Thanks in advance.
