I am having major problems with xp pro communicating with 2000 server.

I have 4 xpro computers connected to a windows 2000 server running active directory.
All of my desktops login and authenticate with the 2000 server and i can see everything on the network.

When i try to setup folders or printers or permissions locally and try to browse for the domain users on any xp computer i get the error cannot find the domain controller for this domain. If i manually type in the domain, user syntax, it finds the user no problem. Whats going on ?
I am noticing other errors on the network such as megga long logon times etc...

The 200 server is setup as a DNS,DHCP server and all xp computers are pointing to the server as their first DNS server. The firewall is also off on all xp lan connections....HELP

no not yet i was leaving this as my last option but will give it a try THANKS !
