Hi Guys,
I am currently replacing a number of old PC's (Compaq Deskpro p233). I'm replacing them with bog standard new Dell 170L (2.6ghz) machines but keeping the old 17' monitors. When I configure the machines everything goes well. The display is a little bit off (black bits on side, top and bottom), so I feel i can use up the black bits by changing the geometry of the screen. I enter the on screen display (OSD) by clicking on the menu button on the monitor and adjust both the vertical and horizon display settings to make optimum use of the available screen space (get rid of the black unused space). That all works fine too but then when I reboot the machine and try to make adjustments to the OSD I can't access it by clicking on the menu button on the monitor. I have tried this on a number of V75 monitors with the same result in each case. I have also downloaded the drivers from compaq but when you try to update the driver it tells me that it can't find a more recent driver. The refresh rate is pretty low 60 Hz, screen resolution 1024x726. Really don't know what's happening here, anyone got any ideas?
Thanks for any help in advance,
Niall
