I have a home network that has worked well prior to Vista ( I'm not suggesting Vista is at fault..) The main PC connects thru a wireless broadband router and has a common group name with the others. Each has IP addresses and gateway set. The in house laptop ( XP Pro ) has no problems with full access either way... the WiFi connected PC does. If I try to open the link to the Main Vista PC it says it does not have permission. If I try accessing the WiFi unit the same thing occurs. I've set FULL permissions on the 3 HHDs on the Vista PC but still no joy.
I have set FULL share on the WiFi but I think I may be missing another step.
I can access both the XP Pcs both ways..

Any suggestions, please? I'll provide any additional details if it will help.

If you get no response here, I would find a forum about Windows, as TCP/IP is not very involved in Windows File sharing, that is SMB.

This is as close as I can find, but I am not a Windows user

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
