Hi!
I recently deployed a fairly simple multi-user form-driven Access 2000/2003 application here at work on a public share on Active Directory. While the app works perfectly for users with Windows 2000, XP users frequently have issues with forms failing to open or even the database failing to respond when attempting to open - with no error messages being generated.
All users are using Office 2003 w/ SP3 and all Win 2000 users have identical permissions and identical database settings. For some reason, however, XP is refusing to allow modification of some settings, such as DDE - it simply fails to save any changes.
Due to some references I am using in the app, it was recommended by Microsoft (website) that the DDE be disabled, and I believe that the inability to do this on the XP machines may be at the root of the problem.
Any assistance anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
