Hello All,
Right before this happened I was having trouble checking files in my edonkey folder. I would go into the folder in my documents and would shut down with error wanting to send error to Microsoft. Therefore, I deleted the folder. I then downloaded the following files to make sure all security updates were current. Well it got worse.
After loading these new patch’s for "Unchecked Buffer in File Decompression Functions" & "Unchecked buffer in HTML Help can lead to Code Execution" I rebooted my system and was unable to login with my admin. I even tried in safe mode. When you try to type your password, nothing is typed. Yet I can login as other accounts. I am running corp version. So I ended up reloading windows and the sp pack and now everything is working fine??? I virused checked with McAfee online checker and panda checker, no viruses detected, weird huh!
Has anyone ever had this happen? I am still wondering what could have caused this! Just thought I would throw this out here! I thought it was from files from edonkey possible a virus; I have had a few over the years from that service. I try not to download anything form there these days.
Cheers,
Azbobs
