I know this an annoying problem on this site but I cannot seem to get an ip address or connect to an internet or network. I have tried all possible solutions, like rebuilding winsock and other network changes. I am running windows xp pro on my laptop. I formated my computer recently and my internet no longer works. All drivers are updated and installed. Any ideas on what else I can try???

Thanks

We have a direct connection to a t-1 line at work. I have never had any problems before until I formated my hard drive.

Hmmm... First verify that you physical stuff is good. Can you connect another laptop in your place and get it up on the 'Net? And I mean to actually use the same cable, port, etc. If so, I'd try repairing your Windows installation...

Another thought, have you tried putting in a static address and see if you can ping anything by IP and name...

Thanks,

A static IP did not work. All the hardware is good, so I am guessing, I need to repair the windows installation.
