I just purchased a machine with XP Media Centre on it. Media centre does not join a domain. There was a hack i found while searching on google but it doesn't work because I have SATA HDD drive and no floppy drive on the machine. I have WIN XP PRO software but i can't install that also because of same problem, no floppy and SATA HDD needs drivers while loading. Trying to load XP PRO from MEDIA CENTRE gives error saying you have newer version of OS installed, cannot upgrade.

Any help on how to get MEDIA CENTRE join a domain or change this MEDIA CENTRE to XP PRO or "upgrade" MEDIA CENTRE to XP PRO bypassing the newer OS error. Please help, I am desperate.

If anything can go wrong, it WILL.

What ServicePack level is your Media Center, and what ServicePack level is your XP Pro CD? If there is a difference try this to bring your XP Pro CD to SP2 level.
