XP Media Centre, can I use XP Home disc to get to recovery console

Hi

AS the title says, can I use my XP home cd to get to the recovery console in XP media edition which I think is XP Pro basically.

The reason I ask is that a customer has asked me to do a Non destructive repair of their system as they have various problems, but it is an HP system and in the past when I have done a none destructive repair I have had the NTLDR is compressed message and the only way to uncompress is to use the recovery console and change the attrib of the file at the command prompt.

I don't know. As far as I know there is no difference in the Recovery Console between Home and Pro. You might consider using the floppy form of the Recovery Console:

Thank you for responding, I have just returned from the customer and I was able to us an XP Home cd to boot to the recovery console.
