Running XP Pro SP1, with Outlook Office Pro 2003, and I'm the only user of this computer. At the logon screen immediately under user name it states "1 unread mail message." However, there is nothing unread in either Outlook 2003, or Outlook Express 6 which I'm not using.

Anyone any clues as to where I might find this so called message or how I can delete it?

Just disable & re-enable the unread mail notification using the utility on line 100 here. Sometimes the Welcome screen reporting gets confused.

Many thanks Smah - the laptop's been away for a few days now. When it returns I'll give that a go. Thanks.
