xp locking documents and outlook

For some reason, all of my documents in word and outlook are locked; i cannot type at all. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "locked"? Need more details on exactly what your problem is. Can you bring up any *.doc file with Note Pad? Go into "My Documents", right click on a file, left click on "Properties", and see if the "Read Only" box is checked.
