I have 2 laptops with XP Pro. During the boot they blue screen. The blue screen flashes by so fast you can't get any error messages. Then is restarts. It keep doing this over and over.

Any ideas?

They're both doing the same thing? Are they identical laptops? If so, I'd check MS's HCL first thing then.. It's on the CD.. obviously there is someting in those laptops that XP just isn't diggin.. Did they have OS's on them before XP? And worked? "tis better to remain silent and be thought of as a fool then open your mouth and remove all doubt" Mark Twain

Can you get in in Safe mode - Press F8 during boot. Log in as administrator then you can change the rebooting behavior so that you can see the error message. Right click on My Computer, Properties, Advanced tab, Starup and Recovery Settings button, uncheck Automatically restart (if you can get in).

We have 600 identical laptops. It is just these 2. They did pass the HCL. They were Win98 with a clean install of XP put on them. Not an upgrade.

Going into safe mode does the same thing. It reboots before it acutally gets into windows.

Have they ever booted successfully into XP? If they have you could try loading the "Last Known Good Configuration" via Safe Mode.

An easy to follow recovery console description when unable to start computer due to corrupt registry.

Click on Tutorial then the Charlie White article on XP crash.
