Hi guys
I have a rather annoying problem with an XP installation!
The story:
I was planning a clean install on a laptop. Booted from the XP CD and did a format of the drive. The process then moved onto copying necessary files.
As it approached the 90% complete mark the laptop mysteriously rebooted and the file copying process started over again without any intervention from me. In fact the process completed through to a full installation of XP and all has been working fine.
Since, I've spent about a day installing other software packages. It was only when I had problems running a particular package I noticed there were two folders on my C drive - Windows & Windows.0 The Windows folder just contained what appears to be the aborted installation and I deleted this.
My questions:
Are there any utilities that would allow me to relocate the Windows inatllationd from C:\Windows.0 to C:\Windows making the necessary changes required in the registry, ini files etc?
Cheers
John
