I installed XP on 2nd PC and find that the EULA states that only 1 MOTHERBOARD per install. If your MOBO dies - too bad. I was also told by the vendor - reputable- that XP could be installed a total of 3 times on 2 PCs or innumerable times on 1 PC. Gist of the matter is 1 motherboard per box.
Question - what happens if I just leave the illegal OS on the 2nd PC? Will it blow up? Will Windows XP lock and freeze? Will my PC melt? Will Microsoft sic their legal dogs on me? Does anyone know?

I've had several PCs die on me and just got a new one and put XP on it. It won't activate through the internet - you have to ring them, tell them what happened and they'll play an automated thing to you which you have to type in on your machine.

Make sure you have a piece of paper and a scribbling stick ready.

It is the same as when you have a machine which you never connect to the internet. Jut ring them up and get the code.
