Hey all, my dad is having a problem with his XP machine. Whenever he tries to access secure sites he times out. We have several other computers in the house and none of the others have problems. I'm out of idea's and was hopeing some of the bright minds on this forum would help me.
Things we have tried:
- Clearing cache/cookies/temp files
- Sync'd date/time
- Made sure proxy/firewall is off
- Made sure his computer is all patched up
- Checked is Internet security settings
What he has discovered is that this is only happening when he's home. When he's at the office or another location everything works fine.
Our network layout is as follows:
Laptop with 802.11b -> Orinoco Wireless base station -> Netgear router/firewall -> DSL modem
