I am on broadband with a cable modem, but I'm now selling the PC to someone who will be on dial-up. For this reason I need to set them up with a new account, but it seems the broadband installation (with disk from the ISP, NTLWorld) has "taken over" my PC!
It mentioned at the time that dial-up networking would be disabled, but I assumed it meant only for my NTLWorld dial-up account, not all my dial-ups, which is what has happened.
The internet connection wizard only gives me the option to connect via broadband - the other two options are greyed-out, even though the modem is no longer connected and I don't have anything at all showing in the View Network Connections window.
Is it possible to have dial-up accounts and a cable broadband account on the same PC because I could do with both on my new PC. If so, how can I get XP to allow me to set up a dial-up connection (the old PC won't let me, although it has nothing in the View Networks Connections window. I've not yet installed the cable modem on the new PC)?
Many thanks.
