I am working on 2 Win XP Home machines that will not boot into Windows. They show the splash screen and flash a BSOD then reboot. This is the same if I choose Safe Mode or Normal. I have used the recovery console and run a chkdsk /r, chkboot, etc and tried to repair the install. Still no luck. I would like not to have to format and reinstall (possibility of losing customers data) Has anyone had this problem before and unable to resolve it? One of the machines has a new motherboard. The other just started doing it.

By the way, changed the RAM out as well. Forgot to mention that.

Thanks in advance

Do you have a digital camera? Try to take a picture of the BSOD and post the exact error back here.

Only problem is that the BSOD lasts for like a split second then disappears. Its too fast to even think about reading.

try a fix mbr in the recovery console. This has worked for me

I agree try a repair/installation I know someone who had the same problem and that worked fine for them.gl
