XP Home -- Deleted User Account

Need to recover data. The option to retain user data was chosen, but the desired Outlook.pst file does not appear to remain on the hard drive.

Any thoughts on how to recover this data or where it might be? I did a search on the hard drive for *.pst with no results.

Regards,
Llamaman

Is the users name still listed under documents and Settings? If so the *.pst file will be there under a hidden folder and thats why it will not show up on search.
Usually located at
C:\Documents and Settings\Deleted User\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

When frustrated remember, in the computer world there is almost always a backdoor.

313877 - User Data Is Missing After You Delete a User Account

"When you choose to delete a user account in the User Accounts tool in Control Panel, you receive the following prompt:
Do you want to keep User's files?
Before you delete User's account, Windows can automatically save the contents of User's desktop and My Documents folder to a new folder called User on your desktop. However, Windows cannot save User's e-mail messages, Internet favorites, and other settings."

Data recovery.
