Hi, using XP Home and since I downloaded a free trial of Adobe Illustrator my Win XP has been acting up. First FrontPage would not run because virtual mem min was too low - I reinstalled FP and increased my mem min but FP still crashes.

What scares me is that Windows Update will not run and the Management Console will not run anymore either(can't run system tools).

Should I Ghost/back-up my machine and do an OS upgrade to XP Pro? Running ThinkPad R31 with 256MB RAM and 1Ghz Celeron

THANKS!

1) Add more RAM.
2) A rebuild might be useful. Don't upgrade if you don't need any of XP pro's features. iSeriesCodePoet

See a post in this forum called 'Virtual Memory Too Low'. It has some great info and kept me from tossing XP out the window!
