Help!
I have just installed Braodband ADsl.I have my xp home set up into 5 users one of them is me(DAD)I can access the internet fine. however any other user cannot ,after internet explorer comes i get.
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library
Runtime error.
Program D:\Programfiles\internet explorer\iexplorer.exe

ABNORMAL PROGRAM TERMINATION

I've tried to reinstall explorer 6 from internet no good. I've gone to microsoft.com and loked at all the problems relating to this . There is nothing on XP. please acn you help me. You guys are great . You helped once before, What can i do?

If you are using NTFS the fact that you have access and others don't seems to indicate some type of security permissions problem. To check it out go into Safe Mode to access the Security Tab on the Properties Page of Iexplore.exe and see what permissions everybody has.

A good place to ask for help would be your ISP.

i've seen this exact problem with a spyware proggy called 'new net names' or something like that. check your add/remove programs list and see if there is an entry for new net names. if so, remove it.

better yet, run spybot search & destroy on the PCs in question and see what it turns up.

I agree with brownlg, you have got some spyware. Internet Explorer does not use C++ runtime libraries.
