I would like to know if there is any way to set up outlook on and XP home machine, with Exchange. Currently only options are pop3 and imap.

THanks

only if you have a home network and install exchange server on your network; but why bother with exchange?

THis is a laptop that someone at work wants to use at work. We have exchange server here. SO how would i get exchange on outlook?

THanks
Raven

add a new email account - options - select and an exchange server account and follow the process given.

Outlook was probably configured for Internet Mail Only mode. You will need to switch to Corporate or Workgroup in order to use exchange.

From the Tools menu, select Options. Under the Mail Services or Mail Delivery button or tab, click Reconfigure Mail Support. Beneath "E-mail Service Options", select the mail support option to which you are switching. Click Next. Read the warning message and then click Yes. Outlook will close. Restart Outlook. The Windows Installer will open and install the required files.

Let us know how it goes.

michbar,

I just installed outlook 2003 and it worked fine. All except the inbox mail is messed up. The email was delivered to a personal folder on the C Drive of computer until i noticed and stopped the automatic sync. So i guess my next question would be how would i get all the email that was put in that personal folder back on the server?

THanks
Raven

You will need to import them into the outlook inbox. Locate the .pst (personal file folder). In Outlook, go to file, import/export. Click from another program or file. Next. Click Personal Folder File. Next. Click Browse and select the correct .pts file. Next. Click inbox from the list to import from. Click the radial button next to Import items into the same folder in: Make sure that Mailbox-users name is in the dropdown box. Finish.

Again, let us know how it goes.
