Morning everyone.

Has anyone come across this problem.

Intermittently - our XP machines seem to 'hang' on bootup while the Applying settings/profiles dialogs are on screen. I'd say the majority of the time the dialogs come up then after a few seconds go again and the Windows desktop appears. But every so often - these dialog boxes remain on screen for about 3 or 4 minutes.

Like i say - it doesn't happen all the time. We run mainly XP SP1 (upgrading to SP2 as we speak). We are just rolling out a SUS server operated via GPO's - but this is still in testing - so the GPO we run are very very bog standard at the moment.

Any ideas.....?

Thanks for looking..

Sounds like it is looking for the NETWORK... if you haven't already, set your IP adresses to FIXED IP's...

If it works don't fix it! If it doesn't use a sledgehammer...
