I know I should know this, but....

When you refresh the system, the XP terminals are not rebooting, but simply logging out. I don't really mind that they don't reboot, but they are stopping and waiting for user intervention to continue (i.e. it wants you to log in as a certain account--no user name and password neeeded, but have to touch GUEST). I have AUTOLOGON all set up, and it works fine for a full reboot, just not for the refresh.

Aside from using some autologon utility, what should i do here? I think a full reboot would do the trick, but autoexit=true is set, and it's not doing anything.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

rebootnt=true

This will tell the terminal to reboot.

If you don't mind the terminal not rebooting you need to turn off the fast user switching in control panel-user accounts.

Also turn off the power option that says "Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby"

I sometimes forget the last one after a new install and the client calls and says that they need a password. Probably not in your case but I figured I would throw that one in!

LOL. No, I have forgotteb to turn that one off a few times too, so I know what you're talking about. Funny thing is, that was the first thing I checked--but this PC (customer provided unit, but OS loaded by me with XP Pro) did not have that option.

So, can I just add that to the ibecfg, or do I need to add it directly to System >> Advanced >> Environment Variables (or are these one in the same?).

Thanks Adam.

Just add that line right below autoexit. Restart and your good to go. Wierd that it didn't already have that line. Any default terminst puts that line in.

Not long ago, I got into the habit of simply copying the autoexec/ibercfg from another terminal, because I got burned a couple of times for things not being in there that neeeded to be. For example, a site that has a backoffice PC named after the business, rather than ALOHABOH. In other words, I didn't use the terminal install, so that's why it wasn't in there (probably a win98 pc I copied it from). But thanks for letting me know.
