XP DVD sssttttoooppp tthhee ssttuutteerr

I am running XP Home and have a DVD drive I ma using MGI SOFTDVD which seems to work well but it can be slightly stuttery. I have tried upping the the priority of the process and killing any stray processes not required but the problem persists any idea how to smooth out these minor irritations

What's the spec of your PC? RAM, Processor, motherboard?

Maybe a hardware DVD accelerator would do the trick?

Well it maybe a problem of MGI SOFTDVD tray the native dvdplay of win xp start/run / dvdplay
