Hi, I've searched everywhere on the web and I am unable to find the remaining XP drivers for my CQ50-100CA laptop. I would really appreciate any help finding these!

The drivers that I'm unable to find are:

- Conexant High Definition Smart Audio 221 (I have already installed the MS UAA Driver that I read was required before this driver was installed. I also downloaded the file SP3786.EXE from HP but when I run the install it reports that it's unable to find the MEDIA device for the driver)

- NVidia High Definition Audio (may be in the Conexant package but I'm not sure)

- HP Webcam 101

- Modem device on High Definition Bus (not sure the correct name)

- Synaptics Touchpad Driver

- Motherboard Chipset Drivers

Here are the codes for the devices that have an exclamation point on them in Device Manager.

- Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5051&SUBSYS_103C360A&REV_1000\4&7CC389&0&0001

- Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10DE&DEV_0002&SUBSYS_10DE0101&REV_1000\4&7CC389&0&0301

- Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus HDAUDIO\FUNC_02&VEN_14F1&DEV_5051&SUBSYS_103C360A&REV_1000\4&7CC389&0&0002

Any help tracking down these drivers would be truly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Andy

Have a look at the following thread where BadBigBen and linney have provided some excellent resources for this same matter.

Yeah, I did before I posted this thread. That's where I got the video driver and it worked fine but the other drivers seem to be for a different model then the CQ50-100CA. That's why I posted the codes for the devices that I have in hopes that BigBadBen, or Linney could find the exact ones that I need.

Thanks for the response though!

First thing first, you WILL need to install the CHIPSET drivers first, before you install any other drivers!

ChipSet:
Unfortunately I can't find enough information as to what chipset the laptop uses, so I am not able to provide a DL link...

but the following should work with that LAPTOP, and they where in the other thread...

- Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5051&SUBSYS_103C360A&REV_1000\4&7CC389&0&0001
and
- Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus HDAUDIO\FUNC_02&VEN_14F1&DEV_5051&SUBSYS_103C360A&REV_1000\4&7CC389&0&0002

both are covered in this DL:

- Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10DE&DEV_0002&SUBSYS_10DE0101&REV_1000\4&7CC389&0&0301
is the Audio portion within the nVidia graphics card, and should normally install with the nVidia driver, but there is also a separate DL (either or try both):

NVIDIA HDMI Audio Drivers

NVIDIA HDMI Audio Device - 1.0.0.6

PS: you may have to unpack the above files and install them manually...

see the last paragraph, on the following website, it will tell you how to do it manually...

How to ask a question, when posting them to a professional forum.
Only ask questions with yes/no answers if you want "yes" or "no"

Thanks so much! I have gotten rid of 2 out of 3 problem devices.

The only one left is: Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10DE&DEV_0002&SUBSYS_10DE0101&REV_1000\4&7CC389&0&0301

I was unable to download the file from the global.msi link because it asks me to pick a language and then directs me to the home page and then I'm not sure where to get the file from there.

After the audio driver I was also hoping to get the Synaptics Touchpad Driver. The touchpad is working but not the scrolling function on the right hand side.

Thanks again!

Andy

Thanks so much BadBigBen! Both worked perfectly, and I am now back to XP and have my drivers CD burned for the future.

Again thanks for all your help!

Have a star, BadBigBen, for another valuable posting!
