XP doesn't see SATA HD(downgrade from Vista)

I have a laptop - Gateway E-295C that came with Vista Business. We want to downgrade it to XP, but when doing so, it doesn't recoginize the SATA HD. I've tried the F6 option with drivers on a floppy, but no luck.
Intel(R) 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller
Intel(R) ICH8M Ultra ATA Storage Controllers - 2850

Please help.

You need to go into the BIOS and find the entry for your SATA controller. It will probably be set to AHCI mode - if so, set it to IDE mode. That should fix it.
