Hi,
Following on from a previous thread where XP was shutting itself down ..
I've disabled the 'auto-reboot' feature but the pc still shuts-down with no error message. It sometimes shuts-down before the user gets a chance to enter a password but then other times after 10-15 minutes etc.
Any ideas how to track down the problem / see the actual error message?
Thanks.

I had an identical problem with my Toshiba Satellite 1805-s204 (XP Home) portable. It turned out to be a bios problem, and when I flashed a bios update posted by Toshiba, the problem was solved. I don't have any more details, unfortumately, but you might make sure that your bios is up-to-date.

Have you looked in event viewer for any error messages that the OS has caught?
