XP/computer will not boot

i have an XP in the office that was working fine until today. As it stands I have changed the battery and tried to start in safe mode but it will not go beyond that. I should point out before I changed the battery the date was resent back to 2008.

No beeps at all when I try to start the computer.

It's very odd. the computer was in a sleep mode and instead of logging in I used the shutoff button on the screen. The computer has not turned on since.

I don't think this is a virus issue as this computer rarely has any usb contact and is not used for much other than some older programs.

Any ideas?

Wrong forum, this is the Windows Millenium forum.

forum779 is the one you want.

Or if the machine is not turning on at all, then perhaps the forum602 may be a better alternative.
