We have a Windows 2000 server and an ADSL router that has been pre-configured by the ISP as a DHCP server. I have disabled the DHCP service on the 2000 server and set IP to automatically obtain it's address from the router and it seems to work.
However, all of our XP Pro client machines take a long to log in and connect to the domain - They get on and run the login script but take a while in doing so - If they are disconnected from the network they start up quickly so there is something with the domain causing the speed problem.
Is this to do with me messing around with the IP setup and not using the 2K server as a DHCP or is this normal??
Any help would be appreciated as would any advice on the best way to set this up. The router is a NAT model and the ISP cannot reconfigure.
Thank you in advance
