I have to DCs in my network. One is a 2000 DC and one is a 2003 DC. I've had intermittent problems with two seperate clients viewing fileshares on both DCs. What happens is the servers are pingable by name and IP, with no problems, but when you go to browse shares by name, no shares appear. If you browse shares by IP (ex. Start > Run > \\191.100.0.54\) all the shares appear. Keep in mind the servers CAN be pinged by name, just not BROWSED by name. This is only with select clients and does not happen all the time. Reboot the affected clients and it works just fine, then randomly happens again at some point down the road. Any ideas?
