Standalone PC with XP Pro(sp1)and IE6. Connected to internet via 512k adsl service through BT broadband. Service connects without problem but as soon as user tries to navigate away from home page(if this loads!)the "page cannot be displayed" error appears. If I put the URL in as 68.142.197.90(Yahoo) the page will be found and load successfully. If I use the ping command with or numeric format both are sucessful. So far have re-installed browser and broadband software, done sfc/ scannow from cmd prompt, done repair install of XP from the disk, all to no avail. Hardware and cables check out OK.
Any ideas please??
Cheers.

I suggest you run, from SafetyMode, AdAware, SpyBot S&D, then HiJackThis to fix any problems it finds...

also run Antivirus progy... Clean out Temp and Temporary Internetfiles...

Ben

If it works don't fix it! If it doesn't use a sledgehammer...

Thanks, will give these a try and let you know the outcome.
