A user here named vormax posted this < some time ago. He solved his problem using Group Policies and changing system auditing. But he doesn't say which audit policies he changed to achieve this. Any idea what works? Thanks

possibly here:

Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Audit Policy

-On the right hand side, double-click "Audit Logon Events"

-Check the boxes for Success and Failure, click OK

Thanks for your response. Actually, I have tried that along with Audit System Events (which I really thought would be the ticket). But I get no joy in finding any events anywhere in the Event Log for my computer's transitions into and out of suspend mode. Darn it!
