Does MS personal web server work with Window XP home edition? If not is there a good working server Window XP home edition?
Thanks

Microsoft says no in their article Q304197 where they say "Windows XP Home Edition does not include or support any versions (1.0, 2.0, 4.0) of Microsoft Personal Web Server (PWS). Users that need Web server functionality in a desktop operating system should use Windows XP Professional."
XP Pro includes IIS.

I have XP Pro. How do I install IIS? Is it on the disc or is it a component? -

It is a component of XP Pro, just go to Add/Remove Programs>Windows Components and there should be a check box in there for IIS.

As for XP Home, check out this thread.

Hope this helps.

Home users and PWS.

Windows XP Home does not come with a Web server such as PWS (Personal Web Server) or IIS (Internet Information Service) like previous Windows. You need to get a third party web server such as Xitami or Apache.

You could try the idea mentioned in these links here.
