xmlhttp GET method fails on my server but works on all others

I use the xmlhttp get method on and works fine from vb 6.0 or java or whatever but on my server it seems to block all xmlhttp get requests. I just upgraded to Apache 2.0 and this started happening.

where can I fix this? What log file might show this connection refused?
