Hello all, I am new to this forum and this is my first post! So I am a graphic designer but I am also a front end developer for a software solutions company. I have been tasked to learn XML and XSLT for my job and have a pretty good start. Along the way, I have run into XML-FO, Extensible Markup Language Formatting Objects. This seems to be part of XSLT but from what I have read, it really is for outputting XML to PDF's. Well is that it? If thats the case then I dont see why would use it. I guess I would like to know if XML-FO is worth learning in todays world. Do you really need this or is this just a waste of time? Thanks all. Feedback much appreciated.

I'd take a look at this article about XSL-FO.

It's not restricted to PDF generation but if it's worth or not, well, I guess it depends just on your needs

Cheers,
Dian
