I receive the following error when I browse a directory containing my DTD files through Apache (Directory Indexes enabled).
[error] [client 127.0.0.1] mod_mime_magic: unexpected state 3; could be caused by bad data in magic file
I have never touched my conf/magic file before and my dtds and xml files validate fine. My magic file contains nothing about a ".dtd" extension. It is the default magic file from Apache 2.0.46 for Windows. The lines that mention anything about xml or dtds are below
# XML eXtensible Markup Language, from Linus Walleij <triad@df.lth.se>
0 string \<?xml text/xml
I get the error message in Internet Explorer below when I try view xml documents containing links to a dtd on my server.
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

Yes, my xml pages do display correctly when I open them from Windows Explorer, so I am guessing it is a problem with Apache.
Has anyone else experienced this problem before? I am guessing I have to add something to my conf/magic file, but I have no idea what it is.
The discipline used to write things down is the first step in making them a reality.
